   Résumé
   Un photographe de mode prend dans un parc la photo d'un couple pour illustrer, avec cette image paisible, un livre «dur». Mais il croit voir dans un coin du tirage quelque chose d'horrible. Il agrandit son cliché encore et encore, mais au fur et à mesure qu'il lui semble découvrir qu'un meurtre a été commis, le grain de la photo, qui grossit lui aussi, rend problématique toute interprétation. Il ne lui reste plus qu'à faire l'épreuve du réel. Mais même le réel semble foutre le camp…
   Commentaire
   Thomas, en remontant à l'essence de son métier, qui reproduit la réalité, ne trouve qu'une abstraction de points que l'esprit ne peut interpréter qu'a priori, tandis que son voisin, le peintre abstrait pointilliste, prétend découvrir après coup des formes figuratives dans ses tableaux. Le réel n'est-il qu'une opération de l'esprit? Ce film superbement concret sur le métier de photographe et si «matérialiste» dans sa vision de Londres faisait notamment écho aux préoccupations du mouvement psychédélique dont il était contemporain.
